Spoonie Pride Necklace. Spoon Necklace for Chronic Illness Warriors.

£15.00 GBP

A sweet spoon necklace celebrating the strength and temerity of those of us living with chronic illness.  The necklace features a Victorian embellished silver plated spoon hanging from a chain with a pretty heart toggle clasp.  The necklace comes in 2 lengths, 17" (44.5cm) or 19" (48cm).

"Spoonie" comes from an article written by Christine Miserandino about living with chronic illnesses and managing daily tasks.  As someone who lives with chronic pain, sometimes I have many spoons, and others, none at all.  I created this necklace, inspired by Miserandino's metaphor as a kind of solidarity with the other spoonies out there.

What a customer has said about this design:

"I adore my new necklace! This has to be one of the most beautifully presented items I have ever bought. Receiving it was the best happy mail I could have got on a day when this spoonie was having a mare in full flight fatigue. I will enjoy wearing my extra spoon and will be keeping it in its little bag when I’m not. Thank you so much for your care and attention. 🐝🐝
